Christie describes herself as CREATIVE and CURIOUS. Others describe her as being a caring, challenging, and helpful person who makes an impact in people’s lives — through her teaching, speaking, writing, coaching, and directing. She is an always-growing Christian who has walked with the Lord for over 55 years. As an English teacher for 40 years, she has served in a variety of venues, and currently teaches homeschooled students from grades 4-12 in her Bellingham (country) home. Her goal is to make learning a joy! In addition to teaching English, Christie is a Christian speaker. She has spoken to Christian groups all over the United States and Canada for over 25 years through her ministry FRESH LOOK THINKING. To encourage others in their speaking ministries, she founded Northwest Christian Speakers Bureau where she trains speakers to develop their ministries as well as helping churches and retreat centers find dynamic speakers for their special events and retreats. You can contact her for some ideas for speakers for your next event or retreat. In May each year, she offers the Iowa Basic test for homeschooled students to meet the state requirement. She began Creative Youth Theater over 24 years ago, and it continues to be held in July in Bellingham under a new director.
